An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer stated in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This event isn't the first occasion that a American defense plane carrying a top government figure has encountered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to head back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical fault.
