Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of questionable actions involving young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
