FC Barcelona to Host Historic Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
