Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
